Preston North End vs. West Bromwich Albion: Player Ratings

Declan Rudd – 7.8

Rudd made a handful of smart saves, especially in the first half, and it would be extremely harsh to accredit him with blame for the penalty decision.

Alan Browne – 8.2

The ‘Preston Updates’ MOTM, Alan Browne provided superb cover at the back, winning ten duels and recording the highest number of tackles in the match. His versatility shone through tonight.

Joe Rafferty – 6.7

Another solid, if unspectacular performance from “Rafu”. The former Rochdale man continues to provide great defensive cover on the left.

Paul Huntington – 7.3

Huntington made his first start since January 12 and it looked like he’d never been away. The veteran defender won five of his six duels and guided Storey through the game.

Jordan Storey – 6.9

The young centre back was competent, although he did lose half of his duels.

Ben Pearson – 6.9

Not quite as effective as usual, but Ben Pearson did well to stifle a number of WBA attacks. The midfield enforcer won over 50% of his duels and made 12 recoveries.

Daniel Johnson – 7.0

Johnson was lucky to evade a booking in the first half, but improved in the second. Had our best chance, with a curling effort that Sam Johnstone poked inches wide.

Tom Barkhuizen – 6.2

With only 36 touches, Barkhuizen failed to impose himself on the game. He didn’t offer enough width, especially in the first half.

Brad Potts – 6.1

Brad Potts covered plenty of ground, helping to pin West Brom back, but he offered little in attack. The midfielder often found himself redundant, but this was because the Baggies dominated possession.

Sean Maguire – 6.4

Maguire came the closest for PNE in the first half, but looked sloppy at times. He came back to support Rafferty on a number of occasions, but was largely ineffective.

Jayden Stockley – 7.1

Up against some colossal defenders, Stockley had his work cut out. But, he put himself about and gave our attack a focal point.
